I have no pictures from my last soccer game this season (and possibly last game period with Chastain) even though it was scheduled for yesterday, because there was no last game.  At least not yet.  The game was originally scheduled to be played at Siwell, but they made the choice to change the field because I'm told Siwell's field resembles an Indian burial mound.  So our bus showed up and took us to the high school field, but their bus never showed.

By 5:00pm the Siwell coach sent his players home.  We waited until 5:30pm before we heard word the game had been cancelled or postponed (I get to figure that out today).  By this time however, our bus driver had unexpectedly left, stranding us ten miles from our school.

We did eventually get home, but I remember realizing that I got home over 12 hours after I had left it that morning and only so I could take twenty kids to another field to goof off for 2 hours.  This is one of the many reasons I am trying to leave JPS.

We went 5-0 against Brinkley (albeit, I'm told that we played the track team).

Our most soccer player soccer player, our offensive center mid earned a yellow for taunting the other team.  He missed about 35 minutes of playing time.

Finding the right offensive-defensive mix has been harder this year.  Usually playing left forward, the white kid moved to center mid to replace our best player after his card.  This is just after he scroed the fifth goal.

He has a broken growth plate in his knee.  Luckily for me, he did not break it playing soccer.  He's out for the season.

Our first sweeper scored our first goal.  For those of you that don't know that means that he traveled just about as far as he could get out of his position.  He was replaced by this shorter boy who understands what I want out of a sweeper.

We played our first soccer game of the season against the rival middle school.  After a 4-0 unscored on season, I gave up two goals in the first game.  We did go on to win the game 5-2.  Here are some pics.

Or Listening to Pandora without Firefox.

No, I did not switch "back" to Safari.  Nor am I using some other browser.  You can check out PandoraBoy.  It's free and plays pandora on your mac without a web browser.  I like to close Firefox a bit to get rid of the clutter, but this can have annoying consequences with my pandora stream.  No more problem with PandoraBoy.

Even better than that, it allows for hotkeys.  I can press ctrl+shift+spacebar in any app and my music pauses or starts up again, ctrl+shift+[right arrow] grabs me the next song, ctrl+shift+[up arrow] gives the song a thumbs up, and ctrl+shift+[down arrow] gives the song a thumbs down.  No more navigating to the pandora tab and doing all that with the mouse.

For you more tech savvy people, I stumbled across this blog which tells you how to setup a little display at the bottom of your desktop to show what song you're currently listening to.  You can customize how this looks.
